Ryan Connaghan named event parking coordinator at University Park
Transportation Services has announced that Ryan Connaghan has been named event parking coordinator for Penn State's University Park campus.
Connaghan previously worked for Transportation Services from 2006 to 2013 as a kiosk operations shift leader and event parking supervisor, and earned a bachelor of science from Penn State in August 2012.
In this role, Connaghan will oversee the University's event parking program, which manages parking for more than 120 events annually, including concerts, athletic events, commencements, performing arts shows, and community events. He will also supervise a team of part-time wage payroll event parking staff, whose numbers range from 10 to 20 individuals throughout the year.
"We're thrilled to welcome Ryan back to the Transportation Services team in his new role as event parking coordinator," says Rob DeMayo, director of Transportation Services. "Ryan has significant experience working in our kiosk and event parking operations, and will help us continue to deliver excellent service to the thousands of visitors who attend events at University Park each year."
Connaghan, whose appointment is effective June 12, succeeds Frank Pope, who will retire on June 30 following an 18-year stint as event parking coordinator.
