VOD one-day visitor parking permits expire Dec. 31

Monday, December 10, 2018

Transportation Services is reminding faculty, staff and visitors that the current series of VOD one-day scratch-off parking permits (valid for parking at Orange lots, Red A, East Deck, Eisenhower Deck, and Nittany Deck) will expire on Monday, Dec. 31.

The expiring VOD permits have the years ‘15’, ‘16’, ‘17’, and ‘18’ above or next to the serial number. As of Jan. 1, 2019, these permits will not be valid in any campus parking facilities.

The new VIS one-day permit series will have the years ‘18’, ‘19’, and ‘20’ listed on them and will only be valid for use in Eisenhower Deck, Red A, Orange lots, and Commuter lots Stadium West, Porter North, and Jordan East. These permits will expire at midnight on the date of use and will not be valid for overnight parking. The new VIS series will also not be valid in the gated facilities (Nittany Deck, and East Deck) previously authorized with the VOD series, and those wishing to park in these areas (as well as the HUB Deck) will be required to pay the hourly rate during reserved hours.

Beginning Dec. 12 and continuing through Feb. 28, 2019, unused VOD permits that expire on Dec. 31, 2018 may be exchanged for the new VIS series on a one-to-one basis, either in person at the Parking Office or via interoffice mail.  Exchanges made via interoffice mail must include a return address for the new VIS series permits to be mailed back via Campus Mail service. Please note that Transportation Services is not responsible for permits lost in the mail. The Parking Office is located at 1 Eisenhower Parking Deck and is open from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. The office will close for 2018 at 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, but will also be closed from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Dec. 21.
