Garage Services maintains and services all official Penn State University vehicles and equipment, including light-duty vehicles, medium-duty trucks, heavy-duty trucks, refuse trucks, campus shuttles, buses, heavy equipment, and agricultural equipment.

Penn State Garage Services transitioned to Transportation Services in August 2026.
The transition supports the University’s Fleet Management Organization (FMO) initiative, a University-wide effort designed to improve oversight, coordination, and efficiency of Penn State’s vehicle assets. By consolidating responsibilities under Transportation Services, the University strengthens its ability to provide comprehensive, strategic support to business units across all aspects of the vehicle life cycle — including acquisition, leasing, maintenance, and disposal.
As part of this transition, Transportation Services leads the implementation of a new Fleet Management Information System (FMIS). Managed by the Transportation Services team, the system will provide enhanced tools and insights to help departments manage their vehicle resources more effectively while supporting Penn State’s long-term sustainability and fiscal responsibility goals.
Service garages are located at the University Park, Abington, Altoona, Behrend, Berks, and Harrisburg campuses. Garage Services employees are an integral part of the Transportation Services team across the commonwealth.

Hours, Location, and Contact
Garage Services is open Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Garage Services is closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and University Holidays.
Garage Services is located on the north side of campus, across Park Avenue from Beaver Stadium. Garage Services is located behind the Physical Plant Building. See map for specific location.
