Lyft Programs
Multiple Lyft programs are available to assist with late-night transportation from downtown to campus, as well as rides between campus, Mount Nittany Medical Center, and Innovation Park.
Ride Smart by Lyft Program (Downtown to Campus)
University Park students can get eight $10 Lyft ride credits each month to use for rides to campus from downtown and select surrounding neighborhoods. Ride Smart is available 2 a.m.-7 a.m. every night during the fall and spring semesters. See Terms and Conditions below.
Medical Center Lyft Program
University Park students and full-time faculty and staff are eligible for four $20 Lyft ride credits each semester for rides between campus, Mount Nittany Medical Center, Centre Medical Sciences Building, and Innovation Park. Campus Lyft is available from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week. Ride credits are not valid on home football game Saturdays. See Terms and Conditions below.
Innovation Park Transportation
Faculty, staff, and students who need transportation between campus and Innovation Park for work-related purposes may submit a request to Transportation Services. Lyft credits or other transportation options will be evaluated and provided based on individual transportation needs.

Download the Lyft app to create an account with your Penn State email or link your Penn State email to your existing Lyft account.
- Follow the directions provided in Lyft's program enrollment email (sent to all University Park students at the start of each semester) or enter the appropriate code in the Lyft pass section of the app's 'Payment' tab:

- Innovation Park Transportation - submit a request
- Verify that the credits are in your account before requesting a ride.

Medical Center Lyft Program
Rides must start and end at one of the following location combinations:
- Start on campus and end at Mount Nittany Medical Center
- Start at Innovation Park and end at Mount Nittany Medical Center
- Start at Mount Nittany Medical Center and end at Innovation Park
- Start at Mount Nittany Medical Center and end on campus
Redeem Credits
Lyft credits automatically apply when requesting an eligible ride. Rides exceeding the $10 credit for the Ride Smart by Lyft Program and the $20 credit for the Medical Center Lyft Program will be charged to your stored payment method. Unused credits expire on the first day of the month.

The University is not affiliated with Lyft or Lyft Drivers and makes no representations or warranties regarding the Lyft app or Lyft Driver services or vehicles or the accuracy of the content contained in the Lyft app or Lyft website. The University is not responsible for the quality of service that students receive from Lyft Drivers or any injury or damage which may result from such services. By enrolling in Penn State Ride Smart by Lyft or Campus Lyft Program through your official invitation email, you acknowledge, understand, and agree that (1) to receive the discount, you must have (or create) a valid Lyft account, (2) any legal relationship arising out of your use of the Lyft app is exclusively between you and Lyft, and (3) you assume any risks associated with your use of the Lyft app. Each user of the Lyft app shall be subject to Lyft’s standard terms and conditions and Lyft’s standard privacy policy as set forth on Lyft’s website.
Lyft Programs Available for University Departments and Organizations
Penn State departments and student organizations can create custom Lyft programs to meet the specialized transportation needs of their employees and students. Our events and programs are open to all students regardless of sex, gender, sexual orientation, race, or any other protected class.
