Read up on student parking eligibility rules, review parking rates and lot locations, and register for the permit that best suits you.
Eligibility
- University Park students who completed at least 29.1 credits. Permits are available for those commuting to campus, graduate students, and summer session students.
- Update: First-year students may purchase a parking permit without prior approval through the end of the spring 2024 semester. Permit options are Lot 22, Lot 42, Lot 81, Lot 82, Lot 83, Lot 43, and YAS-West Deck, subject to availability.
- If you're enrolled in a for-credit class at University Park or World Campus, you are required to purchase a permit to park at University Park.

Additional Access
Evening and Weekend
Permits are valid at most faculty/staff parking areas on weekdays from 4 p.m. through 7:30 a.m. and all day on Saturdays and Sundays, as highlighted in yellow with the E/W symbol on the student parking interactive map. Orange lots are available after 3 p.m.
If license plate information is correct, gates will automatically open at the East, HUB, Nittany, and West parking decks during evening/weekend hours. If gates do not open, tap your Penn State ID at the in-lane machine for access.
No parking at Commuter lots between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m.
Events
Permits are valid for most campus events.
On Penn State Football home game days, park in areas west of Bigler Road.
Commonwealth Campus Parking
Find a parking space at University Park or another campus.
Student Arrival
Special parking rules are in place during student arrival periods.
