Amber Quimby named new Associate Director for Transportation Services
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Amber Quimby has been named associate director of Transportation Services at Penn State's University Park campus, effective Feb. 17.
As associate director, Quimby will focus on the Fleet Operations side of the department and work to improve the processes and effectiveness of every vehicle in the University Fleet. This will be accomplished in a phased multi-year plan, which will start immediately with the implementation of a Unified Fleet Management Information System.
“Our entire Penn State Transportation Services team and I are excited that Amber has advanced in her role in this organization,” said Rick Ward, director of Transportation Services. “Her passion and leadership will be critical to our future success.”
Quimby has been a part of Transportation Services since 2019 as the department’s fleet vehicle manager. She also served in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard for 23 years and was deployed to Iraq in 2009. She then transitioned into her previous job with the Department of Defense where she worked as a production controller and supply technician for seven years.
