Parking and transit changes for summer 2025
UNIVERISTY PARK. Pa -- Transportation Services has announced service changes for summer 2025.
PARKING CHANGES
All core (Brown, Green, Orange, Red, Silver, Yellow) faculty/staff permits will be valid at Lot 11, Lot 22, Yellow H (all sections), and the Nittany and West decks beginning Monday, May 12 through Sunday, Aug. 17.
All other parking regulations will remain in effect during the summer.
CAMPUS AND COMMUNITY TRANSIT CHANGES
CATA will run its reduced service light schedule from Monday, May 5 through Sunday, May 11, which will include Blue Loop and White Loop service during the week and limited White Loop service over the weekend. There will be no Red Link service during this time. CATA will then run its reduced service schedule from Monday, May 12 through Sunday, Aug. 17, which will include Blue Loop service Monday through Saturday with no Sunday service. There will be no White Loop or Red Link service during this time.
CATA will also introduce the following summer trial routes as part of its fixed bus schedule for the 2025 summer service period:
- The UP – University Parkway route provides a counterclockwise service Monday to Saturday with a frequency of every 32 minutes. This route will include Downtown State College, Westerly Parkway Plaza, The Retreat, the Social Security Office, Easterly Parkway Elementary, and the Penn State campus.
- The HV – Happy Valley route will operate all day on Sundays and from 10 p.m. to midnight, Monday through Saturday. This route is designed to complement the existing NV route during these hours. This route will travel counterclockwise and provide service from Walmart, Trader Joe’s, and the Colonnade Boulevard to Martin Street and The Heights.
The Campus Shuttle via College Avenue will operate at full service during the summer. The Campus Shuttle via Beaver Avenue will run from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. at reduced service with a frequency of approximately every 30 minutes.
