Parking tickets are issued to ensure permit holders have access to assigned parking areas and to maintain compliance with campus parking regulations.

Parking Ticket Types and Fine Amounts

Event Violations - As noted above, fine amounts increase for select violation types when a major event or a series of events occur over the same period of time and/or are expected to significantly impact on-campus parking over the respective time period in terms of availability, allocations, and a larger than normal number of visitors requiring parking, etc. Additionally, “Event Parking” may include all parking locations on campus or a more concentrated area of respective parking locations if it's determined these events will require additional personnel hours, resources, lot and deck management, as well as increased enforcement and managerial oversight. Transportation Services will post on its website when an Event Parking Period or Event Parking Weekend will be in effect.
*In addition to the fine, the parking revocation period will be extended.
How do you pay after 30 days?
Faculty/Staff
A $3 fee and the ticket are deducted from your next scheduled pay.
Students
A hold is placed on your account until the payment is received.
Visitors
A collections agency receives the vehicle owner's information with the ticket. Additional fees may apply.
What happens if you receive multiple tickets?
Faculty/Staff
Parking on campus isn't permitted for 30 days for permit holders with eight tickets between July 1-June 30.
Students
Parking on campus isn't permitted for 30 days for permit holders with four tickets in one semester.
Visitors
A vehicle is towed after two tickets between July 1-June 30 until the vehicle is registered for a permit.
Does your ticket qualify for an appeal?
Eligible
Wrong area, encroachment/two or more spaces, loading zone, no parking area, reserved space/area, restricted area, curb/roadway/fire lane, improper display, permit not linked to plate, snow restriction, parked on sidewalk/grass/landscape.
Not Eligible
Expired parking at a meter or timed space/zone, fraudulent/altered/unauthorized permit, handicapped space, revoked privileges, parked bicycle handicap violation.
How do you submit an appeal?
You may submit an appeal within 20 days of the ticket date for an independent committee to review.

Login to the parking portal to submit an appeal.
Students
Pay* your ticket within 20 days.
Permit holders can login to the parking portal to submit an appeal.
Students without a permit, must first link a license plate to their account in the parking portal before the appeal option is available.
Visitors
Pay* your ticket within 20 days.
Sign up and link your license plate to your account or login to the parking portal to submit an appeal.
*You receive a refund if the appeal is accepted.
