Bicycle Master Plan
In collaboration with students, faculty, staff, and technical experts, Penn State is working to create a bicycle master plan for the University Park campus. Penn State’s Transportation Services team has engaged national transportation experts Nelson\Nygaard to lead this effort.
What is a Bicycle Master Plan?
The Penn State University Park Bicycle Master Plan aims to outline strategies that will enhance the experience of biking to, from, and around campus. The plan will build on the University’s ongoing efforts to advance bikeability, which has resulted in the campus’ Gold-Level Bicycle Friendly University designation.
Throughout this process, Nelson\Nygaard will engage with students, faculty, and staff, evaluate the current landscape of biking on campus, define specific goals and metrics for the project, and identify necessary tradeoffs to complete the bicycle network. The final plan will create a clear vision based on shared goals and objectives.
